2026 Character TD/CFX Reel

    • 1-4. Zootopia 2

      Excited to showcase some of the art-directed simulations that I had the privilege to work on! Shots 1-2 consisted of a lot of experimenting with time scale to get the slow-mo feeling, as well as small details in movement. However, shot 3 involved a lot more action and wind. Here, I made sure to get the fur and wrinkle motion to really showcase the speed these characters were going. Shot 4 consists of cloth simulation as well as character contact with props.

      A story directed by Nara Youn and written by Sohyun Moon. I assisted in the Hair Pipeline and simulated hair for two scenes in the trailer using both Houdini and Maya in the process. For the Hair Pipeline, I collaborated with my team by creating a ui to assist in exporting geo hair from Maya that used simulated curves from Houdini.

    • 6-10. Disney Training shots

      These shots were part of the training I received during my time as a trainee/apprentice at Walt Disney Animation Studios. I am only responsible for the hair and cloth simulation. Here I learned more about art direction in both hair and cloth using a variety of constraints, winds, cloth and hair properties.

    • 11-12. Zootopia 2

      (You get cloth simulation! Everyone gets cloth simulation! So much cloth simulation!) I am responsible for working on the fur and cloth simulations for the crowd and hero characters.

    • 13. Dulce

      Dulce is a short animated film for my senior thesis that I’ve directed and created alongside Lok Cheang, and Kevin Class. I was responsible for the story, character designs/modeling, texturing, groom and cloth/groom simulation.

      The hair guides were transferred into Houdini to create the simulation and then transferred back into Maya to render with XGen, using Arnold as the renderer. I had a blast working on this project as I was able to showcase my culture as well as art direct some cloth simulation!

    • Phonograph- Personal Project

      • I saw this phonograph at a local museum and wanted to recreate it in 3D! Focusing mainly on the wear and tear of the materials. Textured in Substance Painter, modeled and rendered in Maya, Arnold.

    • Dulce

      • Dulce is a short animated film for my senior thesis that I’ve directed and created alongside Lok Cheang, and Kevin Class. I was responsible for the story, character designs/modeling, texturing, groom and cloth/groom simulation.

      • The characters and props were textured in Substance Painter, and groomed using XGen in Maya. The texture variation was created with a render pass of the textures as well as a facing ratio in Arnold and put together with compositing.

    • No Photography

      • No Photography is a short film by Grace Redclift, Vincent Wang, Kaifu Tan, and Lance Haug. I was responsible for texturing the hero props in Substance Painter.

    • Boat Project

      • This project was in collaboration with Victoria Venturini. The concept was created by Elli Lebedeva. I was responsible for texturing and shading!
